Phantom Abyss is a game where players dive into a series of procedurally-generated temples where they have to reach the end and secure the golden idol. Be warned, you only get one attempt at each temple and failure or settling for a lesser relic means you will never see that temple again...The cleverest players will use the phantom runs of failed attempts from other players to their advantage and avoid the missteps and mistakes that led to their doom. Once the legendary relic at the bottom of each temple is found, the temple goes away forever and becomes the priceless trophy of the skilled adventurer. Asynchronous Multiplayer Explore the perilous halls and colossal rooms of each temple alongside the phantoms of fallen players that came before you and use their successes and failures to your advantage to progress deeper than they ever could have hoped. is that you are one of many adventurers (other players) who have been trapped in the endless, shifting lair of a chained and rather malevolent Mesoamerican deity named Altec. Altec appears to have been sealed away by the Losana people a very long time ago and left chained within an old temple.
The latter still requires that you own the Steam version, so I guess there’s no reason to specify that. The game is looking all kinds of fantastic, so it seems like the right time to start getting hyped for when it’s available and I find myself dying horribly for hours on end.
However, various restrictions in each dungeon go beyond simple obstacles like traps and spikes. These could be limited health, one-hit kills, or a temple Guardian: an ancient deity that chases you across the map trying to kill you. These restrictions are what keep you on your toes.
